Late Night Musings

So here we are in Canada. I just talked to one of my friends who lives on a disability pension. She cannot afford to go into care because it cost $1000.00 a month and her pension is only $600.00 per month. Okay, so here is how I look at this crazy situation.

Anyone born in Canada, and is over the age of 65, unless they have a government pension, (like all of our MP's) even though she/he/they have lived here their whole damn life, cannot afford to live here after she/he/they????? turn 65. WTF.

But if you come here from somewhere else??????????????? You get free accommodation??????????????????????? Are we serious right now?????????????? This is hardly believable, but yes this is how it is in Canada, the land of the free AND the home of the ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Gen Z's You Are Not The First Generation

Follow the links in this article to read the rest of the story and why we must stop this climate change crazyness before we do cause our own downfall.

Gen Z's think their future on this planet is in jeopardy. Well you are not the first generation to be terrorized by CLIMATE ACTIVIST's UNNECCESARY HYSTERIA!!!!

Get a grip and quit terrorizing your children people!!!!!! This is what the Gen Xr's  faced growing up.

During the 1970's, the media promoted global cooling alarmism with dire threats of a new ice age. Extreme weather events were hyped as signs of the coming apocalypse and man-made pollution was blamed as the cause. Environmental extremists called for everything from outlawing the internal combustion engine to communist style population controls.

Doomsday predictions of the 70's

1970’s Climate Hysteria : Global Cooling – The Coming Ice Age

The coming ice age, we all will die!!!

Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

Wrong again

Earth Warmed 0.6°C From 1880-1940 And Cooled -0.3°C From 1940-1970. Now It’s 0.1°C And -0.05°C.

Global Warming or Cooling????

And before that, this is what the babyboomers faced growing up!!!

Baby Boom Brings Poverty: A Personal Account of Life’s Challenges in the 1950’s and 1960’s

“Poverty in the 1960’s is invisible and it is new, and both these factors make it more tenacious,” Michael Harrington proclaimed in his groundbreaking study, The Other America (1962), “It is more isolated and politically powerless than ever before.” [1] To most individuals, the baby boom evokes an age full of growth and prosperity. Unfortunately though, that was not always the case. There were people born and raised in the baby boom who did not find a prosperous nation. Living conditions were horrible for the poor and little was being done to help change it. This was the case for Ann Marie Harpel, a child of the baby boom era who was born in 1948, along with her four other sisters. She recalls the difficulties of her life growing up in a time. Her story illustrates a darker side of the baby boom era. It shows that post-war American life also had extensive poverty.

Follow the link to read more of her story.

Growing up in the 50's and 60's

And here is the actual childhood that the babyboomers parents lived through!!!!

Millions of Canadians were left unemployed, hungry and often homeless. The decade became known as the Dirty Thirties due to a crippling drought in the Prairies, as well as Canada’s dependence on raw material and farm exports. Widespread losses of jobs and savings transformed the country. See more

Life during the 30's.

So the next time you say poor me I have no future, the earth is warming etc. etc. Think again. You should be so lucky to live virtually in the lap of luxury compared to previous generations. And the earth is still here. Still providing, the weather (climate) always changing, sometimes for the worse and sometimes (like now) for the better!!

Gen Z'ers enjoying a break during classes. Where is the hardship? Oh yes, my phone needs charging, oops, that uses ELICTRICITY, which is generated by COAL, which you think should be ELIMINATED???? Guess what the cleanest energy on the planet is??? HUMAN ENERGY - HUMANS WORKING and NOT SITTING AROUND DOING NOTHING...........  but

using the energy grid that took generations of blood sweat and tears (clean energy, human exertion and ambition) to build so you can CHARGE YOUR PHONE/DEVICE AND SIT AROUND AND COMPLAIN ABOUT USING COAL AND OIL that is used to PRODUCE the ELECTRICITY that you all use FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE!!! That you only enjoy because of the mountains and mountains of WORK done by the previous generations.

definition of clean energy:

"HUMANS WORKING, USING THEIR OWN ENERGY TO CREATE AND BUILD THE FUTURE WHILE SUSTAINING THE PRESENT!!!"

WAKE UP YOU PRIVILAGED #@#$!!!!

Greta on her yacht.  What hardships we (the previous generations) have caused her to suffer. Her having to fly all around the world to tell us all we must reduce C02 emmisions to stop global warming.

Around 2.4% of global CO2 emissions come from aviation. Together with other gases and the water vapour trails produced by aircraft, the industry is responsible for around 5% of global warming

Hypocrisy at it's finest just two examples

British Royal couple Prince Harry and Princess Meghan Markle triggered widespread outrage recently after lecturing the world about climate change while flying around the world in private jets.

"With nearly 7.7 billion people inhabiting this Earth, every choice, every footprint, every action makes a difference," the Duke of Sussex said on Instagram a few days before jetting off with the Duchess to Ibiza, Spain and then to Nice, France.

BBC calculates that those two flights alone produced six times more emissions than the average Briton does each year and over 100 times more than the average resident of the African nation of Lesotho.

Carbon Tax View

Some political humor for your Easter weekend.

I just read an article on slavery in the modern world and it got me to thinking again, how good we have it in this country.

Even with all of its problems, ie. dissatisfaction with our current government. At least we have the option of voting them out or not.

We also have the option to work for our paycheck and pay taxes on the money we earn. Again or not. We also have the option to complain about both situations, which ever one we choose to be in, without the expectation of persecution and or jail time or worse.

This does not however, smooth over the feeling that taxes in this country are getting increasingly out of control. And, even if we do change the current political party to a different one, any cut in these taxes once we start paying them is completely a pipe dream.

We only have to look at history to prove that fact. I will just mention, in my opinion, once a tax is introduced in this country, it is never taken away, even if the other party gets elected on the promise to do so. Unless of course you elect the party back in that started the tax in the first place?

Take the GST as an example. Brought in by the conservative party in 1991 and then, the liberals promised to replace it, if elected in 93. However, once elected, did nothing to change it.

It took an election back to the conservative party in 2006 for any change to take place. That change was a 2% reduction by the party that introduced it in the first place?? Go figure.

So now we have the hated so called carbon tax. Carbon???? (here is the definition of how Carbon dioxide or C02 is produced from the Canadian government's website.

"carbon dioxide, (CO2) Indoors, CO2 is mainly produced through the respiration (breathing) of occupants."

So, are we being taxed on the very air we breathe, not in, but out????

In order to reduce green house gases, we either must stop breathing out (only indoors mind you) or pay pay pay until??? What exactly does the government think is going to happen by paying these ridiculous taxes???

But hey, don't worry, we can breathe out fine as long as we are outside. Which, today, where I live would mean freezing in -20 c. And then of course we will be forced to go inside, crank up the heat and pay pay pay a higher than ever Carbon Tax on the power we use to heat our home so we can breathe out the carbon we are being taxed on.

Is There Life After Death

I read something today that enspired me to write the poem "Maybe Without".

Is there life after death? Is there a heaven or hell? Why are we here?

Is there a God or creator of some kind. If not how did we get here? Why is there so much suffering on earth? What the heck is the point of it all?

These are questions a lot of us ask ourselves everyday. Are we supposed to even know one way or the other? Maybe, maybe not. Here are a few thoughts I have had on the matter.

    Maybe Without

Without pain we may not appreciate a pain free day

Without sorrow we may not express joy

Without want we may not understand plenty

Without loss we may not accept gain

Without enemies we may not embrace our friends

Without freedom we may not fear oppression

Without war we may not strive for peace

Without evil we may not reward good

Without silence we may not revel in song

Without hate we may not know love

Without death we may not rejoice in life

Without darkness we may not see the light

                                        _________FDR

Maybe we are here to experience all these things so if there is life beyond our life here on earth we will recoginise and embrace it, with joy, peace, and love.

The Power of 9

Well here is one for the history books folks. For anyone interested in numerology and even if you are not, this will blow your socks off.

This Friday's Lotto Max draw for $50,000,000.00 dollars took place at 10:30 eastern time.

    - January 7, 2022 at 10:30 = 01+07+2022+10+30=2070 which equals 9 (2+7)

The numbers drawn were 4,5,31,39,42,45,50=216 which equals 9 (2+1+6)

Also, each pair of numbers in the draw can also be added together to get 9

 4+5=9

39+42=81 which equals 9 (8+1)

31+50=81 which equals 9 (8+1)

45= 4+5=9

I don't know how much of a coincidence this is but I think it is really interesting. So next time you pick your lotto numbers you may want to do some math first.

The winning ticket was sold in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan which when added together = 6 so now when the winner's name is announced, I will add up the letters, and if it adds to 3 we will have another nine. Can't wait to find out.

I assign each letter a number from 1 to 26 to get the math equation for that last bit.

UPDATE SHOCKER!!!!

So guess what folks. The winner's name, Dustin Keifer, actually adds up to a 6. But here is another way we can break this down if you want to follow a different path down the rabbit hole to continue the power of 9 (or 3x3).

If we use the prime number theory to break all of these equations down to their prime number, we get the number 3.

In the second equation, we used the location of the winner to get a 6 and the winner's name to get another 6, which also has the prime number of 3.

 (6+6=12 and 1+2=3).

 -----------------------------------------SO------------------------------------

All of the draw numbers = 9 or 3x3 so prime number 3

The date and time of the draw also = 9 or 3x3 also prime number 3

The name and the location of the winner = 12 or (1+2=3)  so also prime number 3.

And guess what folks there it is,  three 3s. or you guessed it 9!!!!!!!!!

Weather Today

WINNIPEG WEATHER

Since weather is the term most searched for on Google in 2018, I am trying an experiment with this blog post. My strategy is this: If my post contains the word weather, and weather is the most searched for term, shouldn't my blog post show up on Google for the word WEATHER?

I'm sure I'm not the only blogger out there who wonders about all of this SEO and KEYWORDS, how it works and where to put what on your page etc. So, here goes. I am blogging about the weather today.

In my part of the world it is very sunny but cold today. Yesterday the weather was very nasty and storming. Snowing, blowing snow, wind shield temperatures making it seem way colder and of course, two of my peeps were travelling yesterday.

One was driving south in the thick of the worst of it and one was flying south probably leaving in the worst of it as well. Today, of course, no one I know has to go anywhere since it is such a super nice day out there.

The weather this winter has been pretty nice actually. Not to cold, not too stormy, you get the picture. The 2019 Farmer's Almanac perdicts a mild winter here so hopefully the weather will continue to be pleasant.

It can get so cold here that your breath will freeze in your lungs if you go outside for more than a few minutes, so we tend to be very careful about outdoor activity when the temperature dips that low.

So that's it. My blog post about the weather. I can't leave without putting some images on here though for my pinterest pals. Here are some to choose from

UPDATE! So yes this worked but only if I typed in the search bar glutenfreefdr+weather. So onward and upward for my SEO and keyword education.

So it may be cold as $#%@#$ up here but we do have the best view of the NORTHERN LIGHTS!!

Winnipeg has the average weather in Canada so I have it as my example.

Organic Standards in Jeopardy

Urgent Action Needed to Save Organic Standards!

On Tuesday, December 10, the Senate advanced a version of the Farm Bill, in hopes of passing a bill before the end of the year. While the latest version contains some good news for small independent farmers, it also includes a plan that would weaken organic standards.
Tucked into the final version of the 2018 Farm Bill  is a seemingly innocuous provision that would undermine organic standards by severely limiting our ability to get synthetic and non-organic substances off of the “National List” of what’s allowed in organic food and farming.

Ever wonder why we call it “organic” agriculture?
Lord Northbourne, who coined the term in his 1940 book, “Look to the Land,” compared "chemical farming versus organic farming” and described an “organic” farm as one where: “The soil and the microorganisms in it together with the plants growing on it form an organic whole.”
Sir Albert Howard, who adopted Northbourne’s term for the title of his 1947 book, “The Soil and Health, A Study of Organic Agriculture,” emphasized organic agriculture’s use of organic matter to create rich compost to feed soil microorganisms, improve soil fertility and produce nutrient-rich food.
The Rodale Institute, founded in 1947 by J.I. Rodale, has elevated the significance of “organic” being “carbon-based.” Rodale’s research shows that if we converted all global croplands and pastures to regenerative organic agriculture we could sequester more than 100% of current annual carbon dioxide emissions.”

USDA Organic regulations codify these values, defining organic production as:
A production system that is managed … to respond to site-specific conditions by integrating cultural, biological and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity.
Unfortunately, the National Organic Program has failed to enforce this definition and has instead encouraged the growth of three disturbing trends in the organic industry:
• Factory farmed “organic” meat, eggs and dairy, where animals are kept indoors or out on bare dirt.
• Hydroponic “organic” produce, where fruits and vegetables are grown without soil.
• “Organic” food where the nutrition comes from added synthetic vitamins, minerals and nutrients.
At the crux of each of these issues is a synthetic substance that props up the broken organic system:
• “Organic” egg and poultry producers can deprive their birds of sunlight and access to pasture only by supplementing the feed with synthetic methionine.
• “Organic” hydroponic fruit and vegetable growers rely on synthetic micronutrients in the absence of soil.
• “Organic” infant formula is a soup of synthetic nutrients.
That’s why, every six months, we take consumers’ demands for real organic to the public meetings of the National Organic Standards Board. The NOSB is the standards-setting body for USDA Organic that decides which non-organic substances can be used in organic food and farming. Every five years, each of the non-organic substances allowed in organic is reviewed by the NOSB. The substance will “sunset” (be removed) unless the NOSB votes to keep it in organic.
The corporations that are making money from the use of synthetics in organic don’t want us to have a voice at the NOSB. They have been lobbying Congress to make make it harder for the NOSB to end the use of synthetics in organic:
• The poultry and egg industry has spent $1,395,000 so far this year lobbying Congress. Senate Agriculture Committee Ranking Member and Farm Bill author Debbie Stabenow has been receiving campaign contributions from Herbruck’s, an “organic” factory farm in Saranac, Michigan, that is raising six million birds that produce five million eggs daily.

• The Coalition for Sustainable Organics, the hydroponic industry front group, has spent $180,000 lobbying Congress.

• DSM North America, the company that sells DHA and ARA, synthetic nutrients heavily marketed through organic foods for infants and children, has spent $90,000 lobbying Congress so far this year, and has spent as much as $495,000 in past years.
How would the 2018 Farm Bill make it harder to get synthetic and non-organic substances out of organic?
Under the 2018 Farm Bill, which could be voted on as early as today, two-thirds of the 15-member NOSB would have to vote in favor of removing a synthetic material from organic in order to get the material out of organic.
On the surface that might sound reasonable. But here’s the deal. Historically, the NOSB would approve a synthetic chemical for use in organic solely on a temporary, five-year basis, until an organic alternative became available. After the five-year period was up, the synthetic ingredient would automatically drop off the list of allowed substances. The only way it could stay in organic, was if two-thirds of the NOSB members voted to keep it there.
The change being proposed in the Farm Bill—which allows a synthetic material to stay on the list indefinitely unless voted off—was actually already enacted through a policy change, during an NOSB meeting in 2013. That controversial decision, opposed at the time by Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) and Sen Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), principal authors of the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990, triggered protests and a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The lawsuit was dismissed in May of 2018. However, the court provided the plaintiffs, which include Organic Consumers Association, a roadmap for a future legal challenge. Here’s what that looks like: We need to wait for the five-year approval period for a synthetic material to expire. If the material isn’t re-approved by a two-thirds vote, and isn’t dropped from the National List, we could mount a legal challenge to get the material removed.
That’s exactly what proponents of the proposed change to the Farm Bill don’t want to see happen. So they’re using the Farm Bill to legislate the change, in a move aimed at preventing the courts from overturning the 2013 NOSB policy change.

Thanks!

Dastardly Dow

overhead view of a farmer spraying crops with pesticides or herbicides

We’ve known for a while that Monsanto buried the truth about Roundup weedkiller, by ignoring concerns by its own scientists. Now it seems Dow Chemical Co. has been using the same playbook.

Dow (renamed DowDuPont after its 2017 merger with DuPont) likely knew for decades that its widely used chlorpyrifos insecticide is harmful to humans—especially children and developing fetuses. But the company hid that information from regulators, both in the U.S. and EU, according to a new study, published in the journal Environmental Health.

The revelation comes as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is duking it out in the legal system over a court ruling that the agency finalize a ban on chlorpyrifos that was proposed under the Obama administration, but overturned after Trump took office. On September 24, the EPA—the agency charged with protecting us from environmental contaminants—asked the courts to re-hear the case.
n the meantime, in California alone, 800,000 acres and on dozens of crops continue to be doused with a pesticide that Beyond Pesticides describes this way:

A neurological toxicant, chlorpyrifos damages the brains of young children: impacts of exposure, even at very low levels, include decreased cognitive function, lowered IQ, attention deficit disorder, and developmental and learning delays.

Celiac-Disease and the Immune-System

I guess some people still do not understand Gluten and the damage it can do to people with a severe Gluten allergy let alone those of us with full blown Celiac disease.

The damage gluten has done to the small intestine can range from mild to severe and can ultimately effect the way our body absorbs nutrients for the rest of our lives.

Some of us are lucky and only have intestinal issues to deal with and we can control that from avoiding any food containing even a hint of gluten. But, and here is the most dangerous part of people having the attitude that "Gluten free people are only looking for attention" as well as other misplaced sayings.

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease. An autoimmune disease is basically the body attacking itself instead of an invader like an unfriendly bacteria or virus.

Now, for anyone without this "affliction" this may not mean much, but if I may point you to the latest information on Autoimmune Diseases and how dangerous they can be, you may change your mind and see what a huge deal this really is to those of use who have to worry about it 24/7.

From Google  -  autoimmune diseases

"In response to an unknown trigger, the immune system may begin producing antibodies that instead of fighting infections, attack the body's own tissues. Treatment for autoimmune diseases generally focuses on reducing immune system activity."

Examples of autoimmune diseases include

Rheumatoid arthritis. The immune system produces antibodies that attach to the linings of joints.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus).

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Multiple sclerosis (MS). The immune system attacks nerve cells, causing symptoms that can include pain, blindness, weakness, poor coordination, and muscle spasms.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus. Immune system antibodies attack and destroy insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.

Guillain-Barre syndrome. The immune system attacks the nerves controlling muscles in the legs and sometimes the arms and upper body.

Psoriasis. In psoriasis, overactive immune system blood cells called T-cells collect in the skin.

Celiac disease is a problem some people have with foods that contain gluten. Gluten is a type of protein. It's found in the grains wheat, barley, rye, and triticale (a wheat-rye cross). When you have this disease and you eat food with gluten in it, the gluten triggers an immune response that is not normal.

And if that isn't scary enough here is some more information.

Gluten ataxia, a rare neurological autoimmune condition involving your body's reaction to the gluten protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, can irreversibly damage the part of your brain called the cerebellum, according to practitioners who first identified the condition about a decade ago.

Here is a link for more information on GLUTEN ataxia

This is very rare but still the fact that it could even happen at all.....No gluten please!
